We’re Gillian and Alex — a husband and wife team from California, USA and Liverpool, UK.

We met on a retreat deep in the Amazon jungle and fell in love despite the fact that Gillian could barely understand Alex’s accent.

One week later, we had our first date at Machu Picchu.

Over the last 11 years, we’ve travelled the world together, lived in multiple countries, and spent months at a time chasing sunshine and adventure.

There was just one problem: Gillian is a legendary overpacker. Just look at her poor future husband on their first trip together.

No matter how lightweight her bikinis and holiday clothes were, her suitcase was always overweight. The culprit? Shoes.

Different outfits meant different shoes, and after years of hauling heavy luggage through airports, train stations, and cobblestone streets, we knew there had to be a better way.

Then inspiration struck.

After remembering a story about how Marilyn Monroe would change the ribbons on her shoes to match different outfits, Gillian had an idea: create one beautiful shoe that could transform into multiple looks.

And that’s how Boho Row was born.
